What is rice calories? Is it good for your diet? How will eating that bowl of rice impact your diet regime and how much exercise will it take to burn it off?

Rice calories mainly constitute of carbs calories and only a tiny percentage of fat calories (about 1%).

Rice also has a above average glycemic load (GL). That means carbs from rice will result in higher blood glucose level. Diabetics should probably avoid eating too much rice. Lower glycemic index (GI) options are bran, whole wheat bread and whole grain bread.

However, rice calories, compared to calories from other types of food, is slower to burn. Hence, eating rice will prevent you from feeling hungry too early and supply energy for longer time. This is good news for dieters as it means less tendency indulge in snacking and binge eating due to hunger.
